Islamabad High Court Jobs 2026 – Multiple Vacancies

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has announced Civil Judge-cum-Magistrate (BPS-18) vacancies through Advertisement No. 8/2026/CJM/EW/IHC. Eligible Pakistani citizens with a law degree and the required legal practice experience are invited to apply online through the official IHC Job Portal.

Vacancy Details

Applications are invited from qualified Pakistani citizens for appointment against vacant posts of:

  • Civil Judge-cum-Magistrate (BPS-18)
  • Female Civil Judge (Family)
  • Presiding Officer

Appointments will be made according to the Islamabad Judicial Service Rules, 2011.


Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill the following conditions:

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

  • A Degree in Law from a recognized university.
  • The qualification must entitle the candidate to practice as an Advocate.

Professional Experience

Applicants must:

  • Be enrolled as an Advocate.
  • Have actively practiced the legal profession for at least two years before the advertisement date.
  • During this period, they must not have been engaged in any full-time employment, business, or occupation for financial gain.

Age Limit

Candidates should be:

  • Minimum Age: 21 Years
  • Maximum Age: 35 Years

The age will be calculated on the closing date of online applications.


Quota Distribution

Recruitment will be made according to the following quota:

  • 50% Merit
  • 50% Islamabad Capital Territory Domicile

Reserved Quotas:

  • 10% Seats for Women
  • 2% Seats for Persons with Disabilities

Appointments will be made subject to suitability under the applicable recruitment rules.


Written Examination Pattern

The recruitment process includes a written examination consisting of law papers and general knowledge.

General Knowledge Paper

  • 100% Objective
  • MCQs Based

Law Papers

Each law paper consists of:

  • 25% Objective Portion
  • 75% Subjective Portion

The syllabus follows Appendix B & Appendix C of the Islamabad Judicial Service Rules, 2011.


Passing Criteria

Candidates must obtain:

  • At least 40% marks in each written paper.
  • 375 aggregate marks to qualify for the interview.

Interview Details:

  • Viva Voce Marks: 100
  • Minimum Passing Marks: 30%

Qualifying the interview is mandatory for final selection.


Medical Requirement

Applicants must:

  • Be mentally fit.
  • Be physically fit.
  • Not suffer from any physical disability that may interfere with the efficient performance of judicial duties.

Application Fee

Candidates must deposit a non-refundable examination fee of Rs. 5,000.

Payment Method

The fee must be deposited through a Bank Challan generated from the Islamabad High Court Job Portal in any branch of the National Bank of Pakistan.

Important:

  • Mobile banking payments are not accepted.
  • Payments through any other online method will not be entertained.
